Welcome to California! My name is Lynda Williams, and I’m a photographer in Santa Cruz, California, specializing in local sights, both natural and man-made.
I love the Central California Coast, with it’s diversity of big cities, small towns, vast agricultural fields, rocky shores and sandy beaches, forests, rivers, and streams. We have it all here! It’s my desire to create images that bring the beauty of California to both locals and visitors/potential visitors from all over the world.
In the 1980s, I developed an interest in photography as a hobby, shooting and developing Cibachrome (color slides) and black & white prints in my home dark room. During that time, I was mentored by John Kleinman, a local professional and instructor at the University of Riverside in Riverside, California.
But as often happens, life took over and there was no time for creative hobbies. Then, in 2009, I relocated to Santa Cruz, California, where I now live with a talented filmmaker and our cat, Nora, and sing tenor in a local barbershop chorus. A few years after that move, I was gifted out of the blue with a new digital “bridge” camera and took up photography again, and in 2015 – to my great delight – became “The Occasional Photographer.”
