Hard to believe another new year is just around the corner. I have been debating writing a blog for quite awhile, and can’t predict how well I’ll stick to the process. But I can’t think of a better time to take the plunge than at the dawn of a new year, so here I am.
2017 is the year I take the leap from photo hobbyist to professional photographer, and I must admit it’s quite a daunting decision! To start the year off, I got myself a Christmas present – a Canon Rebel EOS T6i and two lenses! In my next post, I”ll share my first photos with this lovely new gift!
I’ve never been a blogger before, so please be patient with me while I refine my focus and get my bearings. I will be using these posts to share my photo successes – and not-so successes. If I find a useful web site for learning or networking, I’ll share it with you here. When I learn something valuable, you’ll learn it, too. Each month, I’ll feature a favorite photographer – often someone local, but some familiar names, as well – or photography style.
And this isn’t a one-way street! If you, like me, are just starting your photo journey – hooray! Let’s do it together! If you are a seasoned professional, PLEASE share tips, tricks, and experiences with me and my readers! I could certainly use the input! The comment section is here for questions, advice, and ideas – and don’t forget to share your own photos here, as well. The only rule here is be kind – positive, constructive input only.
Today’s share is CreativeLive.com. This site is getting quite the buzz, and with it’s free live and reasonably-priced on-demand courses in Photo & Video, Art & Design, Music & Audio, Craft & Maker, and Money & Life, there’s something for everyone to increase your creativity and productivity. In the spirit of full disclosure, when you click that link you get $15 off your first course, and when you sign up for that course, I get $15 off a course, as well. And hey, you’ll get a link just like it when you sign up, even if you don’t take any courses – so what are you waiting for? Check it out at and get your creative on, like I did when I picked up Canon Fast Start to kick my year off right.
